LA PROMESA ARGENTINA The Argentine Promise is a cultural movement that seeks to transform the way we travel through the country.
Born from a simple but profound truth: we only care for what we love. And we only love what we know.
Travel —well understood— can be a force for good. To unite, to give thanks and to care for what makes this land unique: its nature, its culture and its people.
Travel as a gesture that honours and leaves a positive mark. As a way of creating a more genuine bond with the territory and those who inhabit it. As a means of connecting with nature, with others and with ourselves.
La Promesa Argentina is born from within: it calls on Argentines to travel with awareness and to care for the country together. And it reaches out to those who visit us, inviting them to join this commitment.
For whom
For those who believe that travel can be a force for good.
For those who want to travel through Argentina consciously, nurturing bonds with the land and its people.
For those who understand that travel can unite us as a country: that we care about what happens at the other end of the territory. And that this bond translates into care and respect.
I commit to:
Honour Mother Earth.
Leave a positive mark with every step.
Listen and learn from those who inhabit the place.
Care for the places I visit and leave them better than I found them.
Use natural resources, such as water and energy, responsibly.
Participate in cultural exchanges.

How it works
La Promesa Argentina neither raises nor manages funds.
It acts as a bridge: it identifies concrete needs in the territory —from rural schools, cooperatives and locally rooted organisations— and connects those who want to help with those who need it, making concrete actions possible.
Contributions are made directly between the sponsor and the recipient, without intermediaries, with efficiency, transparency and traceability.
At the same time, it promotes a conscious way of travelling: caring for each destination and ensuring that every journey leaves something better behind.
If you are a company, institution or player in the tourism sector and want to join us, we invite you to participate.
How it acts
La Promesa Argentina comes to life in the territory through three complementary forms of action: travelling the country to honour, to dialogue and to act.
Legacy
La Promesa Argentina was conceived by Maita Barrenechea, an international reference in purposeful travel experiences and a pioneer in high-quality inbound tourism in the country.
“For me, travel has always been a school of respect: for the culture, nature and people of the places we visit.
I grew up in a family where travel was part of our education. We had to prepare for each destination: study where we were going, respect those we would visit and think about what we could leave behind to make our journey meaningful. Writing a Travel Diary was a way of recording the memory of what we had lived. Sending a postcard was building a bridge so that loved ones could also share in the journey. Bringing a gift meant representing our country; bringing one back, a way of passing on what we had learned.
La Promesa Argentina is my way of making travel an act of gratitude and collective legacy”.
