Today it is beginning to be rediscovered thanks to local communities, family projects and organisations working to protect the sea and develop a more mindful form of tourism deeply connected to the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Journey milestones<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the map illustrated by <strong>@decur<\/strong>, every \ud83d\udccd marks a milestone along the route and a story deeply tied to the Patagonian coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wild nature. From the port, you sail along the mouth of the Chubut River, where South American sea lions and numerous coastal birds can be seen before heading into the open sea in search of the dolphins. <strong>@toninas_delfin_patagonico<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>11 \u00b7 Punta Tombo \ud83d\udc27<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>One of the largest continental colonies of Magellanic penguins in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thousands of penguins arrive each year at this section of the Patagonian coast to nest, breed and moult in an open landscape dominated by wind, gravel and sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>12 \u00b7 Cabo Raso \ud83c\udf0a<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here Eliane and Miguel breathed life back into a small town that seemed forgotten. Today the place has a roadside stop, a general store and cabins facing the sea. There is no internet or telephone: the disconnection is complete. <strong>@caboraso<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wild beaches also attract surfers in search of solitary waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>13 \u00b7 Cabo Dos Bah\u00edas \ud83e\udea8<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Provincial Route 1 crosses pioneer estancias and an open steppe where it is common to encounter guanacos, rheas, Patagonian maras, grey foxes and pichis before reaching the Cabo Dos Bah\u00edas Natural Protected Area, gateway to the Patagonia Austral Marine Coastal Interjurisdictional Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The volcanic rock landscape contrasts with the deep blue of the sea and shelters colonies of Magellanic penguins, along with sea lions and numerous coastal birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is worth taking a detour to Caleta Sara, a small bay where you can stay and head out by sailboat or kayak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>14 \u00b7 Camarones \u2693<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The route finally leads to Camarones, a small Patagonian port and gateway to Patagonia Azul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The oldest town in Chubut was recognised as an \u201cAuthentic Town\u201d for its identity, its serene scale and its way of life connected to the sea and the steppe. A few kilometres away lie the remains of the Vapor Villarino, a vessel that transported the remains of General San Mart\u00edn and was part of the exploration of Argentine Patagonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A La Promesa Dialogue was held here and the book Patagonia by Leandro Vesco was presented at <strong>@huellaazul.camarones<\/strong>, a gathering accompanied by seafood cuisine by <strong>@carolapuracchio<\/strong> thanks to the efforts of <strong>@rewilding_argentina<\/strong>, within the framework of <strong>@parquepatagoniaazul<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\ud83d\udccd Huella Azul \u00b7 Camarones<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\uddd3\ufe0f Saturday 7 February \u00b7 7 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Purposeful Action was also carried out. <strong>@pirqatravel<\/strong> donated a shredder to the cooperative <strong>@briquetascamarones<\/strong> \u00b7 NEC-MAR, driven by Inca and Rosita together with <strong>@amigosdelmarcamarones<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a landscape without trees and with harsh winters, where access to warmth is essential, the project transforms collected cardboard, paper and sawdust into ecological briquettes to heat homes, strengthening a circular economy initiative deeply connected to the real needs of the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Community projects \ud83c\udf31<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amigos del Mar Camarones \u00b7 <strong>@amigosdelmarcamarones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ALAS \u00b7 Patagonian yarns and textiles \u00b7 <strong>@alashiladosytejidos<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CHISPA \u00b7 Community vegetable garden<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Club del Mar Camarones \u00b7 Marine education for children \u00b7 <strong>@clubdelmarcamarones<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>15 \u00b7 Mesa Singular \u2013 Carola Puracchio \ud83c\udf7d\ufe0f<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Promesa Argentina seeks to spotlight gastronomic projects deeply connected to the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The work of <strong>@carolapuracchio<\/strong>, through her project A-MAR <strong>@amar.algas<\/strong>, is truly unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A table facing the sea. Few diners. Cuisine based on seaweed harvested from Patagonian rock pools. Transforming food into identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>16 \u00b7 Patagonia Azul \ud83d\udc0b<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From Camarones, the Patagonia Azul Route continues towards one of the most extraordinary stretches of the Argentine sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>@rewilding_argentina<\/strong> works here protecting marine ecosystems, restoring degraded environments and developing projects alongside local communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, the creation of the <strong>@parquepatagoniaazul<\/strong> marked a turning point: more than 300,000 hectares protected in one of the most biodiverse stretches of the Argentine coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mar\u00eda Mendiz\u00e1bal, head of Tourism Development at the Patagonia Azul Project, has been supporting the growth of the Blue Route and the development of experiences linked to the sea, nature and coastal communities. Her knowledge of the territory and her enthusiasm have been fundamental in driving new tourism projects along this Patagonian coastline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Open-sea sailing \ud83c\udf0a<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking a boat trip is an unforgettable option for a deep experience with the surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\ud83d\udccd Islas Blancas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Together with <strong>@vientoazulexcursiones<\/strong>, Commerson's dolphins follow the bow between rock pools, islets and open sea, while penguins, sea lions, steamer ducks, imperial cormorants and a huge diversity of coastal birds appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\ud83d\udccd Bah\u00eda Arredondo<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From here the boat trip to Isla Leones departs with <strong>@vientoazulexcursiones<\/strong>. Commerson's dolphins accompany the voyage. This excursion runs between October and March\u2013April. December is the breeding season for the dolphins and for most of the species observed during the crossing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\ud83d\udccd Caleta Hornos<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 1535, Sim\u00f3n de Alcazaba y Sotomayor landed here in his attempt to found Nueva Le\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\ud83d\udccd Faro de Isla Leones<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A historical landmark from 1917 in the middle of the open sea, declared Argentine Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\ud83d\udccd Islas y mar abierto<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whales all year round! Five species visit the Chubut coast: Southern Right, Sei, Humpback, Minke and, in recent sightings, even the blue whale, the largest animal on the planet. A gathering ground for the broadnose sevengill shark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>17 \u00b7 Sea shelters \ud83d\udef6<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Tiny houses in an infinite landscape.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isla Leones Camps <strong>@islaleonescamps<\/strong> \u00b7 Marisma Camps <strong>@marismacamps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tiny houses facing the sea to explore this coastline from within: kayaking in estuaries, snorkelling and diving in kelp forests and seagrass meadows around islands and shipwreck sites, crystal-clear rock pools for swimming, coastal horse rides and sailing between islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bah\u00eda Bustamante Lodge <strong>@bahiabustamante<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An old seaweed-harvesting village on a sheep estancia, transformed into a natural sanctuary facing the sea through the sustained work of Mat\u00edas Soriano and Astrid Perkins, pioneers in helping to make visible and protect this extraordinary stretch of the Patagonian coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sailing through Caleta Malaspina, petrified forests, islands with penguins, natural pools and rural life connected to regenerative practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the wind blows, a sound sculpture by Christian Boltanski emits sounds that evoke the song of whales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>18 \u00b7 Rocas Coloradas \ud83d\udd34<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A red volcanic landscape, with petrified forests, intensely blue lagoons and geological formations shaped over millions of years.
